Shipments are likely to show growth in the third quarter and hit a peak in the fourth.
Lite-On indicated the LED capacity in Thailand has been revived hence revenues from LED lighting in May showed significant on-year increases. Lite-On's joint venture with Epistar, Epicrystal(Changzhou), will install seven units of MOCVD equipment in second-half 2012.

Leotek, a subsidiary of Lite-On that focuses on providing outdoor LED lighting, currently ranks second in US LED street lamp market share. The firm's accumulated shipments of LED street lamps have reached 100,000 units. Leotek obtained an LED street lamp project in the US from 140,000 units over five years and will complete shipments and installments in 2014-2015.
Demand for LED backlight-units (BLUs) for TVs grew in April-May, and orders for July-August have been healthy. Nevertheless, Lite-On expressed a conservative view on orders in the third quarter.
As for camera modules, Lite-On indicated that ultrabooks have been adopting modules with resolutions around 1.3-2-megapixel, which are higher than modules adopted for traditional notebooks. This will increase camera module ASPs, added Lite-On.
