Al Rawabi Dairy Intends to Expand Further Into The Mena Region

Dubai-based Al Rawabi Dairy, which penetrated into the UAE market more than two decades ago, intends to expand further into the MENA region.

Al Rawabi planss to foray into Kuwait, Bahrain, and many North African countries.

Al Rawabi Dairy general manager Dr Ahmad Eltigani was quoted by Gulf News as saying: "We are opening the Kuwait market next May and Bahrain by the end of the year. We now have customers in Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and we are expanding in northern Africa as well,"

The dairy firm began operations in 1989 with 500 German imported cows; today, its herd size has increased to 12,500, of which approximately 8,000 are milking cows.

From 10,000 litres of milk produced per day in 1989, the company now generates 275,000 litres of fresh milk and 150,000 litres of fresh juice, reported the publication.

Al Rawabi Dairy Company chairman Abdullah Sultan Al Owais said: "It's not just the numbers. Al Rawabi Dairy is proud to have contributed to the development of the dairy industry in the UAE.

"Our growth has been driven by expansions in infrastructure and the introduction of state-of-the-art machinery, animal welfare systems, and methods to reduce our environmental footprint."
