German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz is planning to launch the new A-Class hatchback model in September 2012 in Europe.
The new A-class model will be offered with various petrol and diesel powertrains delivering outputs range from 80kW (109hp) to 155 kW (211hp), while the base model , the A 180 CDI CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, will emit about 98 g of CO2/km.
According to carmaker, features of all the engines of the new class of vehicle include the ECO start/stop function as standard and they can be mated to the new six-speed manual transmission or with the 7G-DCT dual clutch automatic transmission as option.
The standard specification for the class models includes the radar-based collision prevention assist system in addition to brake assist, pre-safe system, distronic plus adaptive cruise control, nine airbags among many others as an option.
The German carmaker said that the price for the new hatch-back model will start with EUR23,978 for the base model.
