Norwegian food manufacturer Fjordland has unveiled the new ConviTray concept ready meal packaging tray in collaboration with Swiss packaging development company Comvince and UK-based Nicholl Food Packaging.
ConviTray, which has ovenable capacity of about 240°C, is said to be PVC and EPOXY-free, and offers better shelf-life with in-container pasteurization.
The new aluminum tray can also be re-heated to temperatures of 220°-240°C in household ovens and can be pasteurized for longer shelf-life.
The tray features a layer that is specially developed, allowing a tight seal and providing a heat-stable container. It also retains its shape in household ovens.
Fjordland is claimed to be the first manufacturer to launch ConviTray with its new 'Ovnsklar' premium ready meals range launched across Norway.
