Customers who purchase certain new 2014 Chevrolet, Buick, or GMC vehicles will receive two years or 24,000 miles (whichever comes first) worth of free maintenance.
The program, which is typically reserved for premium brands, (Cadillac already has a maintenance program covering services for four years or 50,000 miles) is an attempt by GM to bring customers back to their dealerships. The company has found that car owners who service their vehicles at dealerships are more likely to buy another GM brand vehicle in the future.
The program includes an oil and filter change, tire rotation, and 27-point vehicle inspection based on the owner's manual maintenance schedule. For alternative-fuel vehicles that do not need oil changes or performance models that don't need tire rotations, the program covers up to four visits in 24 months and is transferable to other owners. Those that already bought a 2014 GM will receive the free maintenance.
