French automaker Peugeot is planning to unveil the new supercar, Onyx concept at the upcoming 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The Onyx concept will be powered by a 3.7-liter V8 hybrid HDi FAP engine mated to a six-speed sequential transmission to deliver an output of 600hp.
In addition, the supercar concept gets a hybrid4 engine, which will utilise a kinetic energy recovery system to charge lithium-ion batteries.
According to the automaker, the lithium-ion batteries will power an electric motor to generate another 80hp.
Peugeot Style director Gilles Vidal was quoted by The Auto Channel saying that Onyx has the strength of a supercar, with extremely aerodynamic lines.
"It is made unique by its sculpted, chiselled style and by the innovative materials and structure," Vidal said.
