Indian carton manufacturer TCPL Packaging has installed the Kongsberg X20 sample making table from Belgium-based Esko.
According to Esko, the Kongsberg X20 is a new line of upgradable cutting and creasing sample makers. These machines have been designed to produce a great deal of flexibility and adaptability, says its manufacturer.
The Kongsberg X20 sample making table comes with new software and tool options like laser-like cutting of exceedingly delicate and complex patterns.
Esko South & South East Asia GM John Winderam said: “The Konsgberg tables produce samples as close as possible to actual cartons. We have a huge selection of tools for cutting different materials as well.
“Adaptability in the hardware, and also in the software, for packaging design is an important part of the solution. Our users spend less time on the table and more in the prepress and design, which is why, apart from innovating on the table, we are constantly improving the features and integration of our software.”
Esko says that the new Kongsberg X20 machine installed at TCPL Packaging is of identical size as an older XL20 which was installed ten years back and still in perfect operating condition.
The first Kongsberg is in operation at its optimum says TCPL Packaging managing director Saket Kanoria at the company’s corporate and design office in Mumbai.
Kanoria revealed that the new Kongsberg X20 sample maker has been acquired for Silvassa as the company’s three packaging production plants there provide a significant amount of new packaging development and innovation.
TCPL Packaging has six plants across four cities and had commissioned a uniquely configured gravure press recently to foray into the flexible packaging market.
