McBattas Packaging and Printing Installs New Digital Press in US

US-based McBattas Packaging and Printing has installed the Canon imagePRESS C10000VP Color Digital Press to boost its short-run, thick stock capabilities for both printing and packaging needs.

The imagePRESSC10000VP Color Digital Press is designed to run up to 100 letter-size images per minute on uncoated stocks ranging from 60-350 gsm and coated stocks ranging from 70-350 gsm.

McBattas said that the Canon imagePRESS C10000VP is an ideal option for commercial printers, in-plants, production hubs, direct mail and transaction print service providers to produce a broader range of applications in shorter turnaround times.

McBattas owner and president Fred Arnold said: "Digital packaging is undoubtedly on the rise, and to stay at the forefront of its growth, we knew the time was now to update our equipment and acquire the Canon imagePRESS C10000VP.

"This acquisition cements our place as an industry leader in this space; and the technology behind the digital press will allow us to grow our short-run, print-on-demand, and variable data capabilities."

The digital press complements the two existing Canon imagePRESS machines.

The packaging firm said that the C10000 will be used full packaging capabilities and to produce significantly large volumes of work for some of its largest customers.

McBattas Packaging and Printing business development manager Carole Sprunk said: “Similarly, its quality meets any print standard for packaging that is currently offered, and provides a more affordable option for companies like ours to get into short-run digital packaging."
