Lextar Electronics, a Taiwan-based maker of LED backlight units (BLUs) and lighting devices/products, has reported consolidated revenues of NT$923 million (US$30.8 million) for July, growing by 1.59% on month and by 22.58% on year, while January-July consolidated revenues of NT$5.727 billion grew by 6.25% on year, according to the company.
The growth in July was due to orders for LED BLUs from South Korea-based vendors of LCD TVs and AU Optronics (AUO), its parent company, and for LED COB (chip on board) lighting modules, the company indicated. AUO currently accounts for 60% of its revenues from LED BLUs, Lextar pointed out.
Lextar has extended its LED lighting production from lighting products to LED COB modules and other devices, the company noted. Lextar has offered LED COB modules of 6-100W and has begun shipments to Europe. For LED lighting products, Lextar mainly produces LED tubes and LED panel lamps, the company pointed out.
