Packaging and paper group Mondi subsidiary Mondi Neusiedler is set to invest €3.6m in an automated reel finishing and packaging line to focus on high-speed inkjet reel market.
The investment will be used at its UFP facility to serve existing and new customers with its high-speed inkjet 2.0 portfolio.
The automated finishing and packaging line is expected to start in the first half of 2015.
Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper CEO Peter Orisich said the printers and converters have specific demands when it comes to reel deliveries such as horizontal or vertical transport with and without pallets and narrow reels combined.
"With the automated reel finishing and packaging line this process will be industrialised - delivering more options, better processes and higher quality levels," Orisich added.
The company has unveiled its new high-speed inkjet portfolio 2.0 in April 2014, which features a larger color gamut and increased opacity.
New grammages of 60, 70 and 230g/m2 were also introduced, which allows printers to take their equipment to new areas of print applications, such as catalogues, flyers and post cards.
The Mondi Group is involved in the production of pulp and paper and conversion of packaging paper into corrugated packaging, industrial bags, extrusion coatings and release liner.
