James Ross Consulting has launched PackDevPro, the next generation of packaging development software.
The web based software tool will allow packaging engineers to quickly develop solutions for new and renovated packs that are demonstrably optimized for the supply chain.
James Ross said key focus of manufacturers is to build low cost and packaging and supply chains that are sustainable.
PackDevPro is said to help in this regard, and has been demonstrated to deliver an improvement by 5-15% on any pack analyzed through it besides being well positioned to be integrated as part of a research and development (R&D) stage gate process.
PackDevPro development director Stuart Kimpton said PackDevPro guarantees optimized dimensional packaging for complex global supply chains.
Apart from that, Kimpton says that the software transforms the way in which packaging is analyzed before committing to tooling and dies.
Kimpton added: “The software provides cost and sustainability analysis for the options it generates and provides a return on investment within one or two projects.
“We are excited by the potential of this next generation software platform which uses powerful algorithms combined with packaging development logic to deliver a radically different approach for R&D packaging teams."
The UK-based firm claims to have used the new software with some of its global clients in the food, beverage and consumer goods sectors to help them save millions of dollars over the last couple of years.
Founded in 1993, James Ross Consulting has offices in the UK, US and Australia which are said to help companies in enhancing the performance of their packaging and supply chain and reduction in costs.
