Thailand-based disposable packaging manufacturer KM Packaging (KMP) is all set to open its second THB600m ($20m) plant in Theparak Industrial Park, to cater to the growing food business in the country.

Set to open in late 2013, the plant will monthly add up to 135 million pieces to output, nationmultimedia.com reported.

According to the company, the plant is also expected to increase its production capacity for food and beverage packaging by about 50%.

The existing KMP's plant in Theparak Industrial Park has the capacity to manufacture up to 90 million pieces of paper cups, ice-cream cups, food packages as well as cartons and boxes monthly.

New paper cups and paper packaging have been introduced by the company, which are 100% biodegradable.
