The Managing Director of Sphinx Glass declared that processing high quality flat glass will witness a strong growth in Egypt within the upcoming years, in the light of the domestic economic growth as well as growth in exports, especially to emerging markets in Africa and Southern Europe.
The growth demand for the processing high quality flat glass is mandatory for the construction, real estate and automotive industry, as well as exporting to emerging markets will lead to a doubling in the production capacity within the coming years.
Then he added: "The total production of processing high quality flat glass in Egypt has increased rapidly through the last 3 years, which is a clear indication of the great intensification of its production and placing glass forward as an important player on the world stage."
He then clarified "There are several key factors for increasing the capacity of Egypt productivity", among those factors are
- Applying the new criteria and procedures which will definitely increase the demand for glass products with high quality in Egypt.
- Concerns and conservation efforts for the environment and natural resources have had a significant impact on the manufacturing of glass, as the slogan "Environmentally Friendly" has come to mean that the construction materials for the real estate must provide environmental benefits as well, which distinguishes the movement of construction that's not harmful to the environment or what is known as "green buildings" that we are witnessing around the world.
As Superfine glass provides the ability to rationalize energy consumption through better prevention of penetration of heat and light which for sure have a positive impact on the protection of the environment.
Finally, he asserted that glass has become one of the basic building materials in the new constructions and real estate as well. And that this trend will continue in the foreseeable future, with continued development in technologies of glass manufacturing, and development in engineering designs and construction models which led to the emergence of modern constructions that we see now.
This is exciting for the glass industry and it's expected to remain so in the days ahead.
