The new foldable container is currently featured at DS Smith, Plastics’ Division stand located at Hall 6H082 during the exhibition Salon de l’Emballage in Paris, France.
With the introduction of Duca-Pak —a new addition to the established family of Uni-Pak foldable containers known for their durability and performance— DS Smith, Plastics Division says it is delivering higher standards in performance, weight, folding/unfolding time, space, reusability and recyclability.
Duca-Pak internal volume capacity and height is said to be 15% greater than existing ‘optimised return solutions’ and has enhanced ergonomics.
Its lid weighs less than 6 kg and has an integrated belt system that interlocks the pallet and the sleeve and replaces locks. Four hooks on lid allow fixing the lid on the pallet while loading the container. The space needed by the container in use is only limited to its own footprint at all steps of the logistics flow.
“Duca-Pak has been designed with the highest standards of performance in mind. Durability, efficiency, re-usability and recyclability,” said Mark Lightowler, managing director of DS Smith, Plastics’ Division business that manufactures ‘Ducaplast Optimised Container Solutions’. “All damaged elements of this container can be easily recycled at the end of their working life and turned into new containers. This is in line with DS Smith’s Supply Cycle Thinking that eliminates complexity, embraces reusability and recyclability in the design of our products.”
DS Smith, Plastics Division ’6 seconds’ ease of use systems, which is optional in other containers, have been integrated to the new Duca-Pak design. The name of this system corresponds to the estimated time that takes to fold or unfold each container.
