US carmaker General Motors (GM) has begun the production of 2013 Cadillac ATS sedan at its Lansing Grand River assembly plant in Michigan, US
The carmaker had invested $190m to upgrade the Michigan facility for the production of ATS and in the facility the company also manufactures CTS Sedan, Wagon as well as Coupe and V-Series performance models for each of the variants.
GM will offer the Cadillac ATS sedan in three powertrain options with the base model powered by a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbo engine generating an output of 270hp and 260lb-ft of torque.
Another model with new a rear wheel drive is offered with 2.5 litre 4-cylinder, which will produce 200hp output and 188 lb-ft of torque, while the top model will be powered by a 3.6 litre V6 which will generate an output of 318hp and 267 lb-ft of torque.
Features of ATS include Magnetic Ride Control, the Safety Alert Seat, and CUE, which is a new in-car user experience for connectivity and control.
GM said that the Cadillac ATS sedan will be available all through the US by August 2013.
