IT company HP launched its Indigo-powered digital printing capabilities at a customer open house event at the premises of Wipf, an industrial holding company specialized in flexible packaging, in Volketswil, Switzerland.
Wipf, very recently, installed a HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Press, which would allow the company to offer shorter runs and quicker turnaround times to its customers, myprintresource.com reported.
Wipf owner and chairman of the board Christian Wipf said print runs are getting shorter along with turnaround times for handing over products to the company's customers.
"Our mission statement is 'Innovative Packaging Solutions', and customers attending the event today will see how the new 762mm (30in) digital press will help us deliver on this promise in 2013," Wipf said.
"A customer recently asked us to produce pouches for a confectionery product, however, the packaging was required in a short run and within an even shorter deadline," Wipf added.
