Austria-based packaging products manufacturer Starlinger has introduced a new 'Easy Open' feature for its PP*STAR pinch bottom bags.
The new feature allows the bags to hold large quantities of heavy content without tearing or breaking even when dropped, while offering a better consumer-friendly approach by preventing the usage of scissors or a knife to open it.
According to the company, the Easy Open strip can be produced inline, which reduces extra production steps as well as production costs.
PP*STAR pinch bottom bags are manufactured using woven BOPP laminated polypropylene tape fabric and are claimed to be lightweight as well as strong.
The reverse-printed bags are said to be break-proof, while providing content protection and shelf display for dry bulk goods sold in retail.
Easy Open bags are mostly used in packaging applications including the pet food industry, animal feedstuff, pet care products, dry powders and bulk goods.
PP*STAR bags are produced at the Starlinger pp*starKON conversion line that has annual production capacity of 31 million bags.
