US-based Hammer Packaging has broken ground on a 13,000 ft2 expansion at its corporate headquarters located in West Henrietta, New York.
The addition, which is in progress on the south side of the existing building, once completed, will house Hammer's third variable sleeve offset printing (VSOP) press, besides making room for a 4th press.
Hammer Packaging president & CEO James Hammer said that it was a significant investment for its company.
"The decision for the building addition is to better maintain our present workflow and maintain as much cost effective manufacturing square footage as possible to support our aggressive strategic sales growth," Hammer said.
Hammer Packaging hopes to add the space by 26 November 2012, to coincide with the arrival time of the new equipment.
Hammer moved and expanded their Flexo Operations to their Rochester Tech Park location in early 2012, with a second new narrow-web 10-color Nilpeter UV-Flexo press and an additional 60,000 ft2 space.
