Key Technology, a US-based manufacturer of process automation systems, has launched Taurys, a next-generation digital laser sorter.
According to the company, the Taurys incorporates advanced features in digital sorting, which allows it to achieve faster and more precise sort decisions. It has Enygma sort engine, Chycane infeed chute and reliable lasers.
Taurys handles higher incoming defect loads, increases detection resolution, and improves the accuracy of defect and foreign material (FM) removal as well as sorting efficiencies and reduces false rejects to enable food processors improve product quality and increase yield. It sorts a maximum capacity of three to 15 tons, depending on the product.
Key Technology Advanced Inspection Systems product manager Marco Azzaretti said, "Taurys is the most advanced digital laser sorter on the market. It's our first new product since our merger with Visys and incorporates their leading-edge technology."
"The Enygma sort engine enables Taurys to make faster and more accurate decisions, which allowed us to make several significant design changes that maximize performance," Azzaretti added.
"Taurys offers immediate improvements in sorting efficiencies. It also lays the foundation for sorting advances like fusion sorting, which requires a tremendous volume of data to be analyzed simultaneously."
