How often do you give your power tools a tune up? I know it is not always easy or convenient, but hopefully you don't wait until something goes terribly wrong before you give your tools the attention they need. To make power tool maintenance a bit easier, there is now an app for that.
The Woodworker's Journal has come out a with a new app for the iPad that shows you how to properly tune up and maintain the most common power tools found in a woodworking shop. Step by step instructions with over 150 photos and over an hour of videos cover tools such as the table saw, band saw, jointer, drill press, planer, dust collection system, air compressor, nailer and moisture meter.
A nice feature that they have built right into the app is the maintenance calendar. If you can't remember when to do a tune-up, you can use this calendar to keep up with the scheduling. Unfortunately the Woodworker's Power Tool Tune-Up App is only available for the iPad so I am unable to give it a test run, but if you want to give it a go it will only cost you $4.99.
