Henkel India has selected Spain-based Comexi Group as partner for the first professional training academy (and demo center) for flexible packaging in Mumbai, India.
The academy is being built to develop flexible packaging in India, Middle East and Africa.
In early fourth quarter of 2014, Henkel plans to open the new academy, which will focus on developing lamination techniques for flexible packaging industry.
The academy, which offers training program that includes practical training and theoretical knowledge, will help in enhancing participants expertise to international standards.
As per the deal, Comexi will provide its Comexi NEXUS Dual machine for practice sessions in the academy, which is said to be one of the most successful NEXUS solutions.
In addition, Comex will send the team of experts to the academy to take part in training courses and sessions.
Comexi's India representative Reifenhauser India Marketing will also send lamination technicians to support converters in training and service.
Comex Group has six trademarks, which are specialized in different converting processes.
Comexi Flexo is specialized in flexo printing, while Comexi Offset in offset printing, and Comexi Acom in rotogravure printing.
Comexi Nexus is specialized in laminating materials, Comexi Proslit in slitting and rewinding and Comexi Envirox provides industry logistics and environmental management solutions.
Henkel operates in three business areas, including laundry and home care, beauty care and adhesive technologies and produces brands such as Persil, Schwarzkopf and Loctite.
