The two companies will collaborate to resolve some of the authentication coding challenges created by the EU Falsified Medicines Directive (EU FMD) and the Delegated Acts, set for 2018.
The EU FMD is calling for the serialisation of every single pack or bottle of medicines, which means that over 12,000 packaging lines will need to be changed by 2018.
Craig Stobie, global life sciences sector manager at Domino, explained that the partnership with Aegate will add further expertise to the company’s specialist in-house team.
"Pack serialisation and ultimately legislative compliance will not be found in an ‘off-the-shelf’ solution and will have to come from a number of suppliers,” said Stobie.
"Our relationship with Aegate reinforces our top-line consultancy to help packaging companies find a ready solution for their needs.”
