Scania UK, a manufacturer of trucks and buses for heavy transport applications, has delivered its 12 Irizar i6 coaches to UK-based Reliance Travel, a part of the Redwing group and member of the Addison Lee network.
According to the company, the vehicles are now in service primarily operating on Reliance Travel's commuter services between Kent and central London.
Redwing Coaches managing director Paul Hockley said," Early indications are that these coaches will be a great success, both with the company and its passengers."
All the 12 vehicles will have a length of 12.2m, built to DDA specification and are equipped with 53 seats, a side-mounted Masats wheelchair lift and a rear continental door.
In addition to commuter services, the new coaches will operate on schools contracts, tourist work and airport transfers during the week, while at weekends, they will offer extra carrying capacity for the 75-strong Redwing/Reliance Travel fleet.
