South Africa-based Spec Systems has installed a Xeikon 3030 digital color press to complement its existing business.
Xeikon Labels and Packaging business development and marketing director Filip Weymans said the company's approach of offering complete solutions, including software and workflow, finishing and service, fits well with Spec Systems' needs.
"It's just a matter of time until the MEA area will fully embrace digital label printing, and Spec Systems proofs to be on the forefront of that," Weymans said.
The Xeikon 3030, which is said to be the entry level member of the Xeikon 3000 Series of digital label presses, offers the capability to upgrade in the field in both speed and width.
The press has five printing stations and due to its full rotary printing technology, its speed is unaffected by the number of colors used and the size of the labels.
According to Xeikon, all of its presses print at 1200 dpi with four bit per spot and the Xeikon QA-I toners have lightfastness properties, ranging from six to eight on the blue whole scale.
Spec Systems provides label solutions and specializes in thermal transfer solutions, bar code labels and blank labels.
