Canadian manufacturer of over-the-counter (OTC) pharma products Vita Health has announced the recall of three lots of its Compliments Iron Ferrous Gluconate tablets in consultation with Health Canada, over labeling issue.
At least one bottle labeled as Compliments Iron Ferrous Gluconate 324mg tablets has been identified by Vita Health as containing Iron Ferrous Sulfate, 300mg tablets, which poses a risk to adults with allergies to sulfate.
The tablets were sold across Canada and consumers who have used the product are required to consult their health care practitioner.
Health products that have been authorized for sale by Health Canada will have an eight-digit Drug Identification Number (DIN), a Natural Product Number (NPN) or a Homeopathic Medicine Number (DIN-HM) on the label.
