UK food company Bradburys Cheese has installed Ulma Packaging’s high-speed flowrapping technology at its Buxton facility.
Bradburys has produced a new range of mini portions of its selection of cheeses with the support of Artic high-speed flowrapper.
Ulma has developed Artic flowrapper to offer enhanced presentation and extended shelf life for cheese products.
Through taking the help of Bradburys’ technical team, Ulma has incorporated Artic flowrapper with other cutting equipment to offer a flexible production line and accommodate retail packs with the minimum of fuss and downtime.
Artic’s new long dwell sealing head is said to be characterized by an oval motion profile in the jaw, which enables to provide packs with perfect hermetic seals at high production speeds.
Featuring advanced electronic technology, the machine has been then modified to meet the customer’s exact specification to handle the cheese portions and retail packs.
Ulma business manager Paul McMahon said: “More food companies are looking to combine ULMA’s expertise and knowledge with the latest in packaging technology.
“We have a ‘can do’ attitude as well as equipment that is designed with efficiency in mind for fresh food. Our close collaboration with Bradburys ensured a quality finished product.”
In February this year, Ulma introduced a new ultrasonic vertical sealing equipment to help increase productivity and reduce waste in the fresh produce sector.
The firm’s new VTI 600 and VTC 800 ultrasonic Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) machines are designed to provide continuous packing capability at high production speeds for customers.
