According to statistics released by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan’s output of stainless steel products totaled 238,986 tons in March, increasing by 7.2% from a month ago.
Among them, 105,733 tons were chromium-based stainless steel, increasing by 6.6% and 133,253 tons were nickel-based stainless steel, rising by 7.6%, both compared to the figures in a month ago.
Meanwhile, the stocks of stainless steel products owned by the Japanese stainless steel producers totaled 112,706 tons at the end of March, falling by 10.6% month on month.
