Some newspaper reported that China would herald a new round of railway construction investment in 2013, the value of which would be around CNY 516 billion.
The news seems to wake up steel mills which have been struggling hard this year, especially Baotou Steel, Panzhihua Steel, Ansteel, Wuhan Steel, four major rail steel producers in China.
It is heard that the investment for China railway construction amounted to CNY 2.5 trillion in 12th Five Year Plan period, therefore, good situation for railway may sustain for several years ahead.
For rail steel capacity, Baotou Steel's 1.5 million tonnes annual capacity absolutely tops No 1 in the world and the total capacity of Baotou Steel, Panzhihua Steel, Ansteel and Wuhan Steel aggregate 4.2 million tonnes.
