Tweed Office National Will Change Its Name to Cloud Office Supplies on 1 July

Tweed Office National will change its name to Cloud Office Supplies on 1 July when it makes the move to ASA Australia.

Owner Marty Bate told Stationery News that his decision to join ASA was influenced by the guarantee of "independence" under the ASA banner.

Bates has had a long association with office products industry; his parents owned a newsagency before purchasing Yatala Business Supplies which later evolved into Office National Yatala.

At one stage, Bates left the industry to pursue a career in nursing, obtaining several degrees in the process, but rejoined Office National Yatala as manager in 2005.

Bates said the name Cloud Office Supplies was designed to create a point of difference in terms of marketing cliches.

"It has a number of different meanings and we can have a bit of fun with things like a cumulus sale," he said.

ASA Australia general manager Siobhan Tagell said: "Marty will offer the ASA group fresh, new and thought-provoking ideas in the technology era. What they sell is the same; it is the execution and delivery that will make them different.

"In return, ASA Australia will give Marty Bate his independence – a chance to do his own thing in the conduct of his business based on ASA Australia's encouraging support and solid foundation," she added.
