CCI Is Planning to Propagate US Cotton Program at Heimtextil

Cotton Council International (CCI) will provide comprehensive information on U.S. cotton fiber and the COTTON USA program at its booth at the Heimtextil trade show Jan. 9-12. The booth (Hall 8.0, H 60) will feature home textile samples made of U.S. cotton from 14 COTTON USA licensed companies.

COTTON USA will invite visitors to “Embrace Nature, Choose Cotton,” its 2013 European advertising slogan, as cotton is the largest natural fiber in the global fiber, textile and apparel economy, representing roughly 80 percent of all natural fibers.

The COTTON USA stand will again be a meeting point for the entire cotton sector at Heimtextil. For trade visitors, there will be expert counseling on all aspects of cotton, including global procurement, marketing and the sustainable cultivation practices employed in the United States.

An international team representing the U.S. cotton organizations CCI, Cotton Incorporated and Supima will answer visitors’ questions about the cotton market, such as accessibility, availability and pricing trends. They will also provide sourcing support for cotton products via CCI’s COTTON USA Supply Chain Program.

Designers and buyers from the industrial and retail sectors are also welcome guests at the COTTON USA stand – this is an ideal opportunity for them to find out more about the latest trends in cotton products. Trend forecasts from Cotton Incorporated will be offered as a special service at Heimtextil. At the “Trend Colors to Go” stand, visitors can view the new fashionable home colors for 2014 on spools and take samples with them.

The U.S. cotton booth will also feature samples from the new collections of the following COTTON USA licensees: Bassetti, Camillatex and Zucchi (Italy); Shanghai Imagine Furnishings (China); Caliphil (Taiwan); Batuhan Pazarlama Tekstil and Kimpeks (Turkey); Graser Exklusive Bettwäsche (Germany); Nishikawa Sangyo (Japan); Magasin (Sweden); Linen House and Picasso (Thailand); and Casale Home and Zermatex (Mexico). Visitors to the stand can also obtain information on where other COTTON USA home textile manufacturers are exhibiting at Heimtextil.

An important part of the services offered by the U.S. cotton industry are the international COTTON USA and Supima licensing programs. CCI’s global licensing program provides significant support for COTTON USA licensees who use this quality brand label worldwide. Licensees also benefit from the valuable insight they obtain into consumers, based on international surveys whose findings are made available to all global partners.
