According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported 48,109 tons of steel pipes in the first quarter of this year, rising by 11.3% year on year but falling by 9.1% from a quarter ago. In the given period of time, the country's imports of seamless steel pipes from the CIS totaled 6,517 tons; those from the EU were at 12,805 tons; those from China were at 24,609 tons. In March alone, Turkey imported 19,028 tons of seamless steel pipes, jumping by 33.45% from a month ago and increasing by 12.2% year on year.
