On August 19, the Ministry of Commerce released its announcement No. 25 with a final ruling on the anti-dumping investigation on optical fiber preform imported from Japan and the U.S..
The Ministry of Commerce confirmed that dumping existed in optical fiber preform imported from Japan and U.S., and that it caused substantive damage to China’s domestic industry. There was a casual relationship between dumping and the substantive damage. Therefore, the Ministry of Commerce decided to impose anti-dumping measures against the product.
According to the final ruling, importers of the above products from Japan and U.S. should pay anti-dumping tax ranging from 8.0% to 41.7% at the Chinese Customs. The tariff number of the product is 70022010 in Customs Import and Export Tariff of the People’s Republic of China, under which the imported products with the diameter less than 60 millimeter were not covered.
