The UK Government is set to introduce new legislation forcing the tobacco companies to use plain packaging for cigarettes.
The new rule, which aims at reducing the appeal of the cigarettes to the youngsters, has been delayed by the authorities since last four months.
Following the delay, the government faced protests from the health activists, doctors and the opposition that has made the authorities to implement the policy, which is expected to come into force in the next few days.
According to the Times newspaper, the government will set up a review of a similar move in Australia and its findings are expected to support plain packaging.
The government will also introduce a legislation to change packaging quickly before the 2015 election.
