The enormous mermaid-like installation took place in Alster Lake in Hamburg, Germany. Sure to be quite the surprise for that occasional boater, this life-like sculpture would definitely cause most to do a double take of this large woman's head and legs popping out of the water's surface.

The "Lady in the Lake" designed by Oliver Voss, was created ?to look as if she is serenly bathing in the water and obviously unbothered by her visitors. And although she added a certain charm to the lake, many felt that the large figurine was?'sullying the beloved lake'. Yet the artist's inspiration was pure he hoped to?help people rediscover the city in a new and fun perspective.
