Yazoo/Kees is a manufacturer of lawn mowers. Since October 1999 it has been owned by Sweden-based Husqvarna. Yazoo/Kees employs approximately 300 people and builds its commercial mowing equipment at a facility in Beatrice, Nebraska.
History
Yazoo/Kees traces its origins to one Frederick Daniel Kees who on November 23, 1874 began manufacturing husking hooks and pegs in his Nebraska workshop. His business soon expanded to include machine and firearm repair, as well a range of other manufactured items. Kees' first manufacturing plant opened in 1910.
Yazoo Power Equipment of Jackson, Mississippi purchased the F. D. Kees company in 1997. The consolidated Yazoo/Kees was purchased two years later by Husqvarna.
Husqvarna moved operations from the Beatrice, Nebraska plant to Orangeburg, South Carolina in 2010.
