Most people would find it hard to imagine that the flat unlit item pictured below is actually a lamp. Lamps are tall with a thin base and a shade, that the bulb neatly hides beneath. How could a flat lamp in a flat plastic container become three dimensional?

The Crease Light combines the ancient art of origami’s paper folding with the new lighting technology of LEDs. By merging these two great sciences, the designer has created a product that now defies our common perceptions of the table lamp.
Once you pull the Crease Light from the frosted plastic, almost see-through package it can be easily transformed into a standing 3D form, with just the pull of a switch. The expanding and contracting lamp shade allows its users to adjust the table lamps brightness. No wonder this clever design has one multiple design awards.
