New Zealand-based multinational dairy co-operative Fonterra plans to establish a milk processing facility in China by the end of 2016, in order to enter into the country's infant milk formula market.

The company has outlined plans to launch its infant milk formula brand - Anmum maternal formula - in China, by the end of June 2013., reports the Reuters.
Fonterra CEO Theo Spierings said that the company plans to expand its Anmum maternal formula range in China to include formulas for infants, toddlers and children.
Fonterra noted that the complete Anmum range will initially be available across Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. In addition, the company has raised around NZ$6.12 ($5.10) in payout for its dairy farmers during 2012 - 13 in response to increasing dairy prices.
Fonterra provides various ingredient products, including milk powders, casein and caseinates, whey protein concentrates and isolates, milk protein concentrates and isolates, dried milk, butter and cream products, cheese, hydrolysates, dairy complex lipids, probiotics, functional beverages, and other products derived from milk or milksolids.
The company offers its products for beverages, nutrition bars, organic and sports nutrition products, and yoghurt under the Anchor, Anlene, and Anmum brand names.
