Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda has started production of the third-generation Octavia sedan in Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
In Ukraine, the new model is being produced together with local partner Eurocar in Solomonovo, while production in Kazakhstan is being carried out at Ust-Kamenogorsk in collaboration with Azia Avto.
Skoda's production line in Ukraine also produces Fabia, Yeti, Superb and Roomster models from Semi-Knocked-Down (SKD) form, while Solomonovo plant manufactures Fabia, Yeti and Superb models, alongside the new Octavia.
SKD production of the new Octavia will be carried out using prefabricated car bodies that are imported from the Czech Republic in both Kazakhstan and the Ukraine.
The new Skoda is scheduled to be launched in Kazakhstan in July 2013, while it has already been launched in Ukraine.
In June 2013, Skoda also started manufacturing the new Octavia model in Russia.
