US-based supplier of packaging solutions CSP Technologies has announced the global launch of its Activ-Blister desiccated blister packaging for the pharmaceutical industry.
According to the company, the Activ-Blister desiccant film technology protects moisture and oxygen-sensitive solid dose pharmaceuticals and controls the internal atmosphere of each individual blister cavity.
The technology offers better flexibility in packaging design to the manufacturers and helps ensure consumer safety, as there is no chance of accidental ingestion.
Activ-Blister eliminates the need for traditional desiccant tablets in separate blister wells and allows for a slimmer, convenient packaging form-factor.
The packaging also features product protection without increased blister size and provides cost savings to the manufacturers through reduced material usage, freight costs and fuel consumption.
CSP Technologies sales & marketing vice president Dan L'Ecuyer said Activ-Blister is an entirely new approach to protecting pharmaceuticals with specialized packaging.
"Activ-Blister, CSP's breakthrough solid dose packaging technology provides a strong product solution that meets customer needs while also safeguarding patient health," L'Ecuyer said.
Available in various sizes including all type of round tablets and capsules up to size 0, Activ-Blister features performance capacity with moisture absorption up to 20mgs and oxygen scavenging up to 30ccs.
