David King
TVIS, Denmark — Actona Co., a full-line furniture importer based here, is returning to the High Point Market and has hired David King as vice president of sales for the U.S. and Canada.
In his new post, King will be responsible for developing sales strategies and supporting corporate marketing strategies as the company tries to increase its presence in the U.S. and Canadian markets.
"David brings excellent knowledge of these markets, as well as the vision and sales management and the product expertise to help Actona grow significantly in these markets," said Niels Laurent, Actona's manager of worldwide sales.
King most recently was vice president of sales and marketing at case goods importer and manufacturer Martin Furniture. He earlier held a similar post at Sitcom Furniture and also was vice president of sales at Hamilton Spill.
King said Actona, whose product line includes bedroom, dining room, stationary and motion upholstery, and occasional furniture, is returning to High Point in an 11,000-sqaure-foot showroom in space C-661 of the International Home Furnishings Center. It will be open for the spring market, April 20-25.
He said the company last exhibited in High Point in 2008.
Actona has its corporate headquarters in Denmark, along with factories in China and the Ukraine. It said it had worldwide sales of more than $250 million last year.
