Indian designer and manufacturer of packaging materials Nichrome has opened its new research and development (R&D) facility in a bid to develop and set new standards to scale up the country's packaging industry.
The new R&D centre covering a total area of 12000ft2 has the capacity to accommodate 150 persons and houses the complete engineering and design facility with 3D modeling software, parametric design and product data management facility.
The facility, which is also equipped with a product and pouch testing lab has a training center for conducting customer training programs, and a pouch and brand gallery.
Nichrome India managing director Harish Joshi said the rapidly growing packaging industry's scope for constant improvement has prompted the company to set up an extensive R&D facility.
"We are confident this will help the Indian packaging industry to reach new highs," Joshi added.
Nichrome provides packaging solutions to the food and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
