Skoda has announced that the company has ramped up production capacity at its Mladá Boleslav plant in Czech Republic.
The manufacturing capacities for Skoda Fabia, Fabia Combi (estate), and Skoda Rapid Spaceback has been increased to 1200 units per day from the previous 800 vehicles per day.
The company has also created 800 new jobs and added a third shift to the plant.
According to Skoda, the increase in demand for the Fabia and Rapid Spaceback vehicles triggered the move and it started the expansion and technological upgradation of the plant in summer 2014.
Since 1991, the company has invested more than €100m into Mladá Boleslav, Kvasiny and Vrchlabí plants.
Skoda Production director Michael Oeljeklaus said: "The young SKODA model range is doing exceptionally well on the market.
"Our production is at full throttle - especially at our main plant in Mladá Boleslav.
"Over the coming years, SKODA plans to increase sales to at least 1.5 million per year. To this end, we will continue to invest in our domestic and international production capacities."
