The Sales of Skoda September Add to 3.3%

Skoda Auto has reported 3.3% rise in its sales to 83,900 vehicles for September 2012, compared to 68,500 vehicles it sold during the same period in 2011.

From January through September 2012, the company's sales rose 7.9% to 717,200, compared to 664,800 vehicles for the same period last year.

In Eastern Europe, the company's sales increased 22.7% to 11,700 units in September, while Russian sales rose 35.1% to 8,800 vehicles.

The company's sales in Western Europe decreased to 33,700 cars in September 2012, compared to 35,200 vehicles for the same period previous year.

Skoda board member for sales and marketing Werner Eichhorn said that the company has managed to grow further in September 2012 despite an increasingly challenging environment.

"We expect a tailwind in the months ahead as we launch our new ŠKODA Rapid onto the markets from October 2012," Eichhorn said.
