UK-based supermarket chain Asda is recalling ‘Choco Sprinkles’ as the product may contain milk, which is not mentioned on the label, according to Food Standards Agency (FSA).
This makes the product a possible health risk for anyone who is allergic or intolerant to milk or its constituents.
The product affected by the recall is ASDA Choco Sprinkles, 64g, with a best before date of 31 May 2015. No other ASDA products are known to be affected.
Consumers with an allergy or intolerance to milk, who have bought this product, have been advised not to eat it, but to return it to the nearest ASDA store for a full refund.
The company has withdrawn the product from sale and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the withdrawal.
