Highland House,a full-line furniture manufacturer and division of Century Furniture Inds.,will move from its longtime fourth floor showroom in High Point's Historic Market Square to Market Square 142,on the first floor of the building.

Renovations to the new space, formerly the Habersham showroom, will be complete before the High Point Premarket,Sept.13-14.Highland House will preview the line for retailers at Premarket.

Olson will be in the showroom during Premarket and also during the first days of the High Point Market, which opens Oct.13,the company said.

Highland House officials said that while the square footage of the new showroom is comparable to the former one,the floor plan offers more flexibility.

"The new first-floor Market Square showroom should be a good move for us on many fronts,"said company President Parker Goss."Having this first-floor location offers us increased visibility and traffic, plus the general layout of this new showroom allows us to better organize and display our product line."

The Candice Olson collection for Highland House will include more than 80 pieces of upholstery and case goods in the initial launch and is described by Olson as"modern meets traditional"style. The collection marks the first time that Olson's branded upholstery and case goods have been produced and showcased by a single manufacturer.Highland House plans to incorporate Olson's paint, wallcoverings, rugs, lighting and decorative accessories from other licensees into the new collection's showroom presentation.

"My new collection with Highland House is a true reflection of my overall design philosophy, and it's all about an eclectic fusion of contrasts-contrasts like antique paired with modern, rustic with refined, minimal with adorned, matte set off by luster,"Olson said."I believe it's the tension created by these contrasts that brings depth, excitement and one-of-a-kind personality to a space."

Olson reinterprets traditional silhouettes throughout the collection. She said that she tried to create a sense of recognition and comfort with each product while also updating familiar furniture profiles.

"Ultimately,my goal with this collection is to provide the tools for a look that's current yet timeless-a truly distinct and personalized environment that looks like it's grown and evolved effortlessly over time,"Olson said."I believe what we have achieved here is a new take on tradition-live with what we loved about the past, but also be excited about what we'll discover tomorrow."
