Jouf Cement Halts Work on Its Furnace and Mill Due to "Unscheduled" Maintenance Works

Jouf Cement Company has announced that it has halted work on its furnace and mills due to "unscheduled" maintenance works.

The firm said that the plant stopped last Wednesday and is likely to remain out of action until 5th October.

It added the stoppage is likely to cost it around $4.8m (SR18m), which will be reflected in its results for the third and fourth quarter of 2013.

The company also stopped its production line in June this year for unscheduled maintenance. The stoppage began on 17 June and lasted until 30 June and cost the firm an estimated $1.6m (SR6m).
