40% of Consumers Say They Don't Have Enough Time for Taking Care of Their Homes

Gardening is a growing trend, but 40% of consumers around the world say they don’t have enough time for taking care of their homes and gardens and 32% consider gardening to be a chore. This is driving the demand for smart and convenient tools. The most coveted gardening tool is an automatic watering system, followed by a robotic mower. The automatic garden is on the rise. Kitchen gardening, urban farming and organic gardening are just a few examples of modern gardening trends that have spread globally. But at the same time as more people are experiencing the joy of gardening, we have less time for taking care of our homes and gardens. The Global Garden Report, a global gardening study by Husqvarna, shows that 40% of consumers say they do not have time to look after their garden as much as they would like. Longer working hours alongside time consuming habits such as vacations and mini-breaks is minimizing the time we spend taking care of our homes and gardens. - Passionate gardeners love to spend time in the garden, but for many people it becomes a cause for stress and worry. Today, 32% of consumers consider gardening to be mainly a chore. And as time pressure increases, we have seen a higher demand for smart and convenient ways to keep gardens in shape - therefore the demand for automated garden products, says XX, XX at Husqvarna. Automated Water and Mowing In the Global Garden Report 5000 homeowners were asked to pick the tools that they wanted the most. At the top of the list we find the tools that reduce the work effort in the garden the most. An automatic watering system tops the global wish list, being coveted by 26% of consumers. A robotic mower comes in second place (19% of the votes, followed by a garden tractor (11%), and a tie for fourth place between a tiller and a chain saw (8%).
