It's reported that the prices of medium heavy plates have fallen by US$10/ton in the Mexican market over the past two weeks due to sluggish demand. According to data, Mexico's output of medium heavy plates totaled 531,779 tons in the first quarter of this year, falling by 5.9% from 565,363 tons in the same period of a year ago. Meanwhile, the country's apparent consumption of medium heavy plate fell by 12.9% year on year to 688,133 tons. In the first quarter of this year, Mexico's imports of medium heavy plates totaled 248,231 tons, rising by 15.5% year on year.
