Reportedly, Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp (NSSMC) will relocate its stainless plate production at its Naoetsu works to Yawata works in Kyusyu operated by subsidiary Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless (NSSC). It's learned that NSSMC's Wakayama works in western Japan currently supplies slab to Naoetsu works. The official of NSSMC stated that it decided to move the production to NSSC's Yawata works in order to concentrate it in one place and enhance the efficiency. Meanwhile, the stainless plate output at Naoetsu works will be stopped by the end of next year.
