Tabuk Cement co has announced that it has signed an agreement to set up a second production line and a new power plant.
The firm s chairman, Khaled bin Saleh Shathry, signed a deal with Chinese firm CDI worth $141m (SR: 531.5m) to design, build and install a clinker production line with a capacity to produce up to 5,000 tons of clinker per day.
It has also agreed a $41.5m deal with Caterpillar for a new 30MW power plant, and a deal with French environmental specialist Veolia worth $9.5m for a new water treatment plant capable of with a capacity to produce 1,500 cubic metres a day.
When a pair of project supervision contracts are added in, the total value of the works will be $196.2m (SR: 735.9m).
